Provides educational services and support to 13 constituent districts and four public school academies


Working relationships/partnerships with:

  • Barry and Branch ISDs
  • Kalamazoo Regional Educational Service Agency and Wayne Regional Educational Service Agency
  • Kellogg Community College, Western Michigan University, Albion College, and Olivet College
  • CISD also works closely with regional health and human service agencies, county government, chambers of commerce, and various business and industrial groups to further enhance the educational opportunities in the area


In addition to the Gifford/Schultz Service Center located in Marshall, CISD off-site programs include:

  • Doris Klaussen Developmental Center in Battle Creek
  • Starr Commonwealth Educational Program in Albion
  • Calhoun County Juvenile Home Educational Program in Marshall
  • Calhoun Area Career Center in Battle Creek
