Calhoun Department of Technology

motherboard

The Calhoun ISD Department of Technology (CDOT) has been providing technology services to local school districts since 1972 and is a service of the Calhoun Intermediate School District. CDOT strives to be a leader in making technology transparent. This means that CDOT's mission is to provide prompt, practical, innovative and sustainable solutions to support administrative, operational and educational technology services to Calhoun ISD constituents in Branch and Calhoun counties. CDOT maintains three groups for this purpose.

Administrative Technology Services

CDOT, in partnership with Wayne Regional Educational Service Agency (RESA), provides Administrative Services to its constituent districts. These services are provided based on a per student annual fee and include:

  • Student Services
  • Human Resources and Payroll
  • Finance
  • Technology Tools

Operational Technology Services

School Districts contract with CDOT to complete various types of operational technology projects. These services are fee based and vary by project. Types of services include:

  • Audio and Visual Repair
  • Computer Repair
  • Network Servers
  • Network Engineering

Educational Technology Services

Like any district, CISD has its own internal technology department providing technical support to CISD staff. Because CISD is a service agency, some of the technology is also supported and available to constituent school districts. These technologies include:

  • Internet Service Provider
  • Video Conferencing
  • Technology Focused Professional Development

The Administrative group is located at Kellogg Community College in Battle Creek. The Operational and Educational groups are located at the Gifford/Schultz Educational Service Center in Marshall. Each location runs their own help desk to assist constituents with their needs.
