A customized core curriculum is taught the first semester of each year to all students. Students will then choose one of two specialty areas for the second semester. Typical specialty areas will be 1) Machine Automation Technologies, focusing on Industrial Automation and Electrical/Electronics;
2) Instrumentation Technologies, with a focus on Avionics and Instrumentation, or Residential Wiring Technologies, with the focus on Home Automation and Residential Wiring; or Industrial Maintenance Technologies, with a focus on Industrial Repair and HVAC/Refrigeration. Neither year is a prerequisite for the other.
