Interviewing Tips To Land The Perfect Job

You finally got that interview for your dream job. Congratulations. Now you have to show them why you are the most valuable candidate. This can be stressful and nerve-racking. The best way to deal with these nerves is to prepare as if this is the most important presentation of your life, because it is.

First, you should exhaustively research the company. Prepare questions that you would like to ask about the company that has nothing to do with your salary or their benefits. It will be quite impressive if you have questions ready to go when the interviewer asks instead of having to think of some on the spot. Also, watch your use of “I.” Using “I” too much can make you sound on the narcissistic side. Try to use the word “we” as often as possible.

Now you need your presentation materials. It is important to print out a short summary of your skills, interests, and hobbies so that you can hand your interviewer a copy when asked. It shows organization and foresight. It is also a good idea to bring any paper evidence of your accomplishments: copies of articles, awards, etc. Be careful about looking too proud, but when they come up it will reflect well on you to have copies.

You are almost ready for your presentation. Do some practice questions with a friend, watch your posture and remember to dress business casual. Do not over do it or under do it with your appearance. Be honest when you do not know the answer to a question and do not forget to send a thank you email. If you follow these tips, you will stand out and hopefully be starting your perfect job any day now.
